How Islam is the Fastest Growing Religion

Studies in the 21st century put forward that Islam is the fastest-growing religion in terms of worldwide spread. According to researchers, Muslims will grow more than twice as fast as the whole global population. In the coming decades, the World’s population is projected to grow 32% by 2060. The number of Muslims is expected to increase by 70%, from 1.8 billion to 3 billion. Despite of the terrorism issues, Islam is the fastest-growing religion in the World.

In this article, we will discuss the reason why Islam is spreading so fast across the globe.

The population of Muslims is growing so rapidly

1. The relatively Young Muslim population:

Among all the religions of the World, Islam comprises the most number of young people. The average range of their median age is 24.

The median age of Christian is 30. The median age of Hindus is 27. This religious class’s total population and fertility rates are lower than Muslims.

All other major religious groups have more than 30 years of median age. More young Muslims will replace older non-Muslims across the globe.

2. High Fertility rates:

Muslims have more children than followers of any other region. The main reason behind the growth of Islam is the high fertility rates of Muslim ladies.

Muslim women give birth to more children. On average, a Muslim woman gives birth to three children. At the same time, a non-Muslim has 2.2 children.

After Muslims, Christians have the next highest prolificacy rate of 2.6. This is the primary reason for the fast growth of the Muslim population globally.

This fact is also true that people do change their faith. Religious switching also occurs in many countries. In the case of Muslims, the above story of changing religion is not valid. The number of Muslims increases obviously because the death rate is less than the birth rate in any given year.

People changing their religious name

In many countries, we don’t see any change in religious identity. For example, those who have grown up as Christian keep that identity as adults.

A similar case is true for Muslims. It means that more people have grown up as Muslims than any other religion.

1. Religious switching is relatively low:

Religious switching has been found to be relatively low in many Muslim majority countries.

People don’t change their faith because Islam fits into the Modern World.

The key role of Islam in the contemporary World is establishing a political, economic and social system. All these systems are based on the order of Sunnah and the Holy Quran.

Islam is the religion that gives the strongest belief to its believer. Due to this belief, people don’t have any desire to change their faith.

Islam is the combinant of peace and tranquillity. Peace within oneself, peace with God and his creation.

2. Most Muslims live in the fastest-growing region of the World:

Another reason for Islam being the fastest growing religion is its saturation in the rapidly populating regions of the World.

The growth of Muslims will be more tremendous in the Middle East and Africa. The followers of religions other than Islam tend to change their faith as they grow old. Muslims have more children than Christians all over the World.

Growth of the Muslim inhabitants in the U.S

The Muslim population is also increased in the United States, the same as in any other country. In the U.S., there are three and a half million Muslims now. But with the passage of time, the population of Muslims is expected to double.

Coming to India, Islam will become 2nd most prominent religion by 2040. Now Hinduism is dominant in India, but Islam is growing faster than the Hindu population. It is expected that by the year 2060, there will be more Muslims than Hindus and Jews.

In the coming decades, the population of Muslims will increase by more than 1%. That increment is because Muslims in the world are younger than followers of other religious groups.

The increase in the population also occurs through migration. This increase will continue in the coming years. The expectation about to rise, Islam, is varies from 14.9% to 19.4% by 2015 to 2060 respectively.

How do Americans view Islam and Muslims:

A survey was done for seven different religious countries. These include evangelical Christian, Buddhists, Hindus, mainline Protestants, Jews, Mormons and Catholics. Americans have more warm views about these seven religious groups. But towards Muslims, the Americans’ views are now more generous than they have been in the past.

Muslims in Europe:

Europe is also included in those regions where Islam is the fastest-growing religion. According to research studies, the Muslim population in Europe (excluding Turkey) exceeded Thirty million to Forty-Four million from 1990 to 2010. Muslims population increased from 4.1% to 6%.

Muslims in UK:

Islam is the 2nd largest religion in the UK after Christianity. There are basically four main reasons for the growth of Islam in the United Kingdom.

  • Identify politics
  • High birth rates than death rates
  • Conversions from Christianity
  • Higher immigration rates into the United Kingdom

In the modern age, the Muslim population has continued to increase across the World.

There are some additional factors that are responsible for the growth of Islam. We enlisted these factors below.

Factors

1. Islam is the religion of peace:

The fundamental principle in Islam is peace. Islam emphasizes its followers to have peaceful communication with everybody.

Islam also prohibits its believers from avoiding violence and war. According to Islamic teaching, God invites people to peace and calmness. This consolation is also one of the causes of the spread of Islam.

2. Due to migration:

Islam is growing fast because many emigrants are going to Western countries. Islam is not only the religion, awaited to spread in the West because of immigration.

That enables Muslims to share their beliefs with others and establish their faith. Muslims migrate towards non-Muslim countries due to many reasons. For instance, many economic and political volatility force Muslims to go to western countries.

3. Missionary religion:

The growth of Islam is also a consequence of it being an apostle religion. Due to its missionary nature, Islam is developed so rapidly across Southern Europe and North Africa.

This faith is also spread into Southeast Asia and South Asia. Apostle religion frequently involves a rueful dimension.

This remorseful dimension tries to satisfy non-members of the reasonability of the faith. Muslim missionaries attract the people in many forms, including debates, lectures and apologetic organizations.

In Europe and North America, there are also many Islamic apologetic and missionary organizations that contribute to spreading the message of Islam. These endeavours make Islam the fastest growing religion across the World.

4. Due to attractive religion:

Islam’s spiritual and moral teachings attract people. It is an attractive religion because of its simplicity to follow the code of life. Islam is the second most influential religion after Christianity because it gives complete guidelines for every aspect of life.

It can give an attractive religious alternative to many in the West. In this unpredictable and uncertain world, many people wish for comfort.

Islam provides this comfort on matters such as God, purpose, meaning and life after death. Islam is also acting as a uni-directional for people.

It instructs people on what they are. For Westerners, it can also be anticipated to be attractive. Many people can create their own realities in relativistic religions.

Islam offers a religion that has its roots grounded in a set of beliefs and a miraculous book. These aspects prove that Islam is a perfect religion for all humanity.

5. The rise of Islam is due to its openness to new members:

One of the causes for the growth of the Muslim community has been its acceptance of new members.

On the other hand, a non-Muslim can convert to Islam by announcing themself to be a Muslim.

A non-Muslim who is eager to accept Islam does not require any confirmation from religious authorities. Declaration of faith is enough proof of conversion to Islam. Due to this ease, people readily accept Islam.

6. Islam is the complete religion:

The meaning of Islam is submission to the will of God. Muslims are faithful followers of Islam. Islam is the universal and complete version of the earliest faith that was disclosed many years ago through Prophets.

People aim to live a life according to religion completely in its meaning. Islam established laws about living a life, political rights, Social issues, Civil rights and a transparent system of Worship.

  1. It’s fascinating to see how demographic factors like age and fertility rates contribute to the rapid growth of Islam. The youthful population and higher fertility rates among Muslims certainly play a significant role in this trend. Additionally, the concentration of Muslim populations in regions with high overall population growth further accelerates this expansion. https://prayertimetoronto.com/
